You may have received threatening letters from HMRC containing warnings of them coming to colllect debts without full justification of the payments due.

Paying the correct amount of tax is your personal responsibility. So whilst underpaid tax may not be your fault, that’s the line HMRC are taking.

HMRC have now announced that they will not be collecting debts under £300 and others that do owe more will have 3 years to pay.
